Setting up the external camera with a yeast cell microscope

First, the camera must be connected to the microscope. If your microscope has a C-mount, please use it. Otherwise, the camera can be placed on the eyepiece. If you are unsure whether your microscope has a C-mount connection please check the manufacturer’s specifications.

Installation C-Mount

Unscrew the protective cap from the camera. Now screw the camera onto the C-mount thread.

Make sure that the camera is sitting straight at the end of the installation. After assembly, the camera is connected to the Android device via the connection cable.

Below is a video showing the assembly:

Installation eyepiece

Unscrew the protective cap of the camera and remove the protective cap of the 0.5x extension. Now the extension is screwed onto the camera.

Now remove one eyepiece from your microscope and attach the camera including the extension.

If this does not fit directly, please use the corresponding adapters that are supplied with the camera. Make sure that the camera is sitting straight at the end of the installation. After installation, the camera is connected to the Android device via the connection cable.

Below you can find a video showing the assembly:

Once the external camera is set up, it has to be calibrated with the microscope and magnification used.
